The Stryker IFV Transport is a more durable and close ranged variant of the Stryker. If it gets destroyed, Force Recon jump out and help finish the fight at the same level as your Army’s Force Recon.

General Information

The Stryker IFV is a Tier 4 Light Vehicle, unlocked after reaching player level 45.

Weapons

Stryker IFV's main gun rapidly deals single-target ballistic damage to all targets.

Additionally, the Stryker IFV can be equipped with a secondary weapon. The fifth slot, unlocked at level 10, only has the RMG 7.62 MG, which provides siege damage at long range and helps in wiping out smaller targets.

Usage In Combat

Stryker IFVs, though unassuming at a first glance, can be deadly in the right hands and is a significant improvement from the Cougar. Its access to Rocket countermeasures and improved stats allow it to stand against the dominance of rocket-firing Helicopters like the MI-28 and quickly take them down, while having the versatility to reach every target. With its secondary weapon contributing to the fight as well, groups of Stryker IFVs can do significant amounts of damage and can be virtually unstoppable in the right circumstances. In the unfortunate event of its destruction, it can even drop Force Recons, which when upgraded can prove to be far more punishing than just Machine Gunners or even the unit itself, making it equally dangerous as an attacker or defender. Stryker IFVs notably can also work very well in mixed platoons when teaming up with Ontos II, providing cover against airborne threats while Ontos II demolishes structures. With it being the FOB 4-7 Light Vehicle as well, they are a great investment, especially if players do not wish to work with the BMP but are yet to unlock Grizzly.

In terms of weaknesses, the Stryker IFV has little to none. If anything must be said, it still has the range disadvantage of earlier Light Vehicles, and while it does more damage, it may not be wise to fully rely on it for DPS even for the Force Recons, as splash threats and defending tanks like Merkavas are rather prevalent at this point and the same goes for minefields, not to mention it lacks proper bonuses against structures. Its rocket countermeasures also don't have the best consistency, and so won't keep it safe for long as it is reliant on its mobility to keep itself safe. Its secondary weapon does patch its range disadvantage somewhat, but as it can't hit air and has a much lower DPS, it is of limited use in practice. Nevertheless, the Stryker IFV remains an amazing unit, and the keystone of midgame progression.

Trivia

  • Although the in-game Stryker IFV comes with a main gun by default, the unit icon does not display it.
  • The Stryker IFV was originally added as a unit claimable in events, along with the PK IFV and Humvee IFV. Amongst the three it's the only unit to be kept in the later updates (2.37), though the original Stryker was phased out and replaced by the Ontos II.
    • Despite this, the description remains unchanged, and still references the original's existence.
