The Russian "infantry fighting vehicle" is of a hybrid design- smaller, faster and with more armaments than traditional field tanks but with thicker armor than in other light vehicles.

General Information

The BMP is a Tier 5 Light Vehicle, exclusively unlockable through blueprint acquisition in Events.

Weapons

The BMP comes equipped with a rapid-firing 100mm gun that delivering medium ballistic damage to everything at short range.

Additionally, the BMP can be equipped with a secondary weapon. The fifth slot, unlocked at level 10, only has the S-8 Rocket Pod, which fires quickly and aids in dealing swarms of weaker ground targets at mid-range.

Usage In Battle

A major step up from the Stryker IFV, the BMP is remarkably versatile. Whereas the Stryker excels in range by sniping targets through its secondary and avoids engagements, the BMP shines through brute force. Its upgraded Countermeasures can fight off Rockets better, and its lethality only increases further against Helicopters while remaining as an acceptable source of offense, given its primary can hit all threats just as well as the Stryker. Even in the event of its untimely destruction, the BMP can spawn an AGS Team, which, while inferior in quantity, can rain down carnage to an unsuspecting base and do much more damage than Force Recons.

The only issue about the BMP is its cost of transition. Starting from it, Light Vehicles tend to use advanced equipment that aren't shared with earlier units, and so until it reaches level 8, it struggles to withstand attacks. It is also rather expensive to build and promote, and despite yielding higher stats than Stryker IFV with additional versatility over Ontos II, the BMP doesn't shine for long once the M3 Bradley becomes avaliable, which can deal much more damage. More often than not, players would dismiss its importance as the FOB 8 IFV and stick with the Stryker IFV for an acceptable offense until they get their hands on the M3 Bradley or Grizzly. As such, the BMP is often overlooked, but is definitely not without its strengths given how late is Grizzly obtainable.
