General Information

The M270 Launcher's rocket pods fire explosive rockets, inflicting splash damage to all ground units caught in their area of effect.

Usage In Combat

Though fragile and slow, M270 Launcher isn't meant to take the burnt of fire, as its greatest asset is its exceptional range of 380. It revolutionizes Heavy Vehicle platoons completely, as it can outrange Railguns, fire over obstacles and attack Barriers at a distance, allowing the remaining Siege Tanks to maximize their own survivability and offense against enemy structures. Rather than rushing into a base guns blazing, the M270 can stay behind to clear out troublesome targets, and in some cases fully erase large groups of enemy defenders before they could do any damage. Though unable to target aerial threats, the M270 Launcher does have a secondary weapon, providing itself and other Heavy Vehicles limited defense against them.

Due to its inherent vulnerability, M270 Launchers are vulnerable to enemy counter-battery fire. Howitzers and Salvos both have a range advantage, and caution is advised when using lower-ranged Tanks like the Abrams M1A1, as they can inadvertently wander into the Defenses' blindspots and spoil an attack. Its rockets, though perfect for engaging grounded foes, are meant for besieging stationary targets, so they won't be able to falter or hit certain enemy vehicles, not to mention its general weakness against aerial threats that require an Infantry escort. Ultimately, however, it remains a crucial unit for progression, and will be worth investing in as it familiarizes players with proper artillery units.
