General Information

The Ontos II is noteworthy for its exceptional speed and remarkably high damage output, the Ontos II can unleash its firepower while on the move, making it a versatile force capable of engaging various targets.

Weapons

The Ontos II's primary weapon is a set of recoiless rifles, which fire in bursts, delivering heavy damage to all ground targets while on the move, devastating structures with terrifying ease.

Additionally, the Ontos II can be equipped with the FIM-43 Redeye Missiles and RMG 7.62mm MG, both which are acquired in events and help to cover its weakness against infantry and air units.

Usage in Battle

Ontos II is a hard-hitting LAV that behaves exactly like the Humvee, but does it better. For twice the space, it is far more destructive and can quickly suppress enemy turrets while its high velocity allows it to whittle down bases by circling around them. The addition of secondary weapons only sweeten the deal, as the Ontos II lacks the ability to target air and infantry can easily close in on it due to the unit's low range. It can be used alone, kiting enemy threats while avoiding fire itself, or supplement tanks like the Merkava IVm as they keep any potential threats occupied. The Stryker IFV can also be used alongside due to having similarly low range and rocket countermeasures which improves the platoon's matchup against helicopters while doing extra damage. Sharing most of its equipment slots with many other important units, players will find a much better transition when using the Ontos II, as they can quickly promote it and obtain huge boosts to its overall performance immediately, massively bolstering their offensive potential.

Ontos II however does suffer from some significant flaws. As with any LAV, Minefields can effectively render it unusable. Its inability to target air dramatically cripples its performance if enemy helicopters are present, as Redeye Missiles do relatively low damage and it must be accompanied by Stryker IFVs, which can limit one's formation. As mentioned before, infantry can also pose a threat as its burst firing primary weapon reduces its ability to deal with small threats, although the 7.62mm MG does compensate by its significantly higher range.
