—In-Game Description

General Information

The AH-64E is a T4 Helicopter Unit, unlocked at level 46 and requires a level 4 Helipad.

Weapons

The rocket pods fire Armor-Piercing Rockets at enemy targets, inflicting damage in a small hit radius.

Additionally, the AH-64E Guardian can be equipped with some secondary weapons.

  • The second slot, unlocked at level 4, only has AGM-114 Hellfire Missiles, which specialize in contributing to siege damage with its bonuses against platforms and structures but can also help to damage ground threats.
  • The fifth slot, unlocked at level 10, only has the M197 20mm Gatling Cannon, which assists in taking out lighter threats that it generally struggles to deal with, such as Reapers and Force Recons, while allowing it to concentrate on attacking its main targets.

Usage In Battle

A major step up from the Cobra, the AH-64E's primary highlight is its ability to deal heavy splash damage, which dramatically improves its effectiveness against a wide variety of targets. They can melt several barriers/turrets in seconds before said turrets cause too much damage, and can also wipe out or gravely cripple tightly packed clusters of ground units. Its hellfire missiles further increase its damage to Defense Platforms, and its secondary Gatling Gun can deal with small targets attacking it from other directions, especially fixed-wing aircraft like Reapers that it can't hit. Furthermore, by the time it is unlocked, many don't tend to have access to dedicated anti-air units like Pantsirs, which potentially allow Guardians to gravely cripple if not fully deter an enemy assault

As attack helicopters, Guardians are best used with gunships like the Hind. The gunships can distract enemy turrets while Guardians steamroll them, leaving the helicopters with free reign over the airspace.
